Volunteer

Your talents are needed. There are many rewarding ways to get involved with the Actual Lives Performance Project:

Administrative Assistant — Requires approximately ten hours in the month preceding the workshop to help with recruiting, publicizing, transportation, interpreters and general facilitation of the workshop sessions.

Concessions Manager — Organize food donations, concession menus, concession area and concession volunteers.

Construction Team — Build wooden ramps or other assistive structures and sets under the direction of the producer the day before and the day of performances.

Fundraising Assistance — Help raise money to fund production costs.

Graphic Designer — Design and layout programs and flyers for the workshop and performances.

Performance Night Helpers — Ticket takers, concession stand workers, cleanup crew and backstage food crew.

Photographer — Take photos during the weeklong workshop and performance, process film and return negatives and contact sheets.

Props Manager — Identify and obtain props; deliver them to rehearsals and return after production.

Publicity Help — Draft public service announcements and make publicity contacts.

Scribes/Personal Attendants — Help to capture stories relayed by participants during the workshop and provide personal attendant services to performers requiring assistance.

Set Designers and Builders — Design and build sets for performances.

Tech Helpers — Hang lights and run sound boards for performance opening and throughout the performance schedule.

Transportation Assistant — Oversee transportation needs, including procuring taxi vouchers for wheelchair users traveling after the bus curfew.

Videographer — Shoot video footage during the workshop, rehearsals and the performances and return raw footage.

Video Editor — Edit all the raw video footage and create a compelling video!

Video Interviewer — Conduct video interviews before and after the workshop from a predetermined list of questions and return raw footage.
